Cellnex’s UK division has recently inked a prolonged contract to maintain its infrastructure services for Vodafone Group’s UK subsidiary and Virgin Media O2. This agreement follows shortly after both telecom operators extended their existing network-sharing arrangement.

Cellnex highlighted in a statement that the renewed agreement with the operators enhances and expands the current partnership, ensuring certainty for all involved parties.

Enhanced Network Sharing

The telecom infrastructure provider stated that the agreement includes access to towers and related services, which support the operators’ network-sharing collaboration.

Gianluca Landolina, CEO of Cellnex UK, emphasized that the company shares a common objective with its customers to expand dependable and high-performing telecommunication networks for their end users. He further underscored the importance of this initiative in facilitating the successful deployment of connectivity and digitalization across the UK.

Andrea Donà, Chief Network Officer at Vodafone, stated that the partnership with Cellnex supports the expansion and maintenance of their dependable network across the UK, both presently and in the future. He expressed eagerness to continue collaborating with the Cellnex team moving forward.

Jeanie York, Chief Technology Officer at Virgin Media O2, said, “This partnership will help us maintain and upgrade our existing sites across the country and ensure we continue to provide our customers with the fast and reliable mobile connectivity they increasingly rely on as we invest billions of pounds each year in our networks and services.”
