Mikko Uusitalo, CEO of Private Networks Europe at Boldyn Networks, expressed confidence in the company’s progress towards its goal of becoming the leading private networks provider globally. He attributed this ambition to the support of Boldyn Networks’ extensive global presence, top industry talent, and decades of experience in managing complex shared networks.
Boldyn Networks also manages the private 5G network for a global leader in automotive technology focused on smart and sustainable mobility, alongside deploying networks for other major companies in the Spanish market.
Boldyn Networks has successfully launched Spain’s first private 5G network in the chemical sector, specifically at BASF’s Tarragona facilities. This deployment aims to enhance connectivity, optimize processes, and improve traffic management across the 100-hectare plant.

David de Celis, Country Manager for Spain at Boldyn Networks, highlighted Spain’s crucial role in the company’s strategic plan to provide advanced connectivity solutions and support enterprise digitalization. He noted that the partnership with BASF marks a significant milestone for the company. “In the coming months, we plan to initiate a number of projects that will not only diversify our portfolio but also strengthen our ability to continue to revolutionize the digital transformation of our customers. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and are confident that these initiatives will contribute significantly to our long-term success,” he added.
Spain is a key focus of Boldyn’s European expansion, as evident in the company’s agreement with Roma Capitale to launch the #Roma5G initiative. This ambitious project aims to transform the Italian capital into one of Europe’s most connected, digital, and sustainable smart cities.
Additionally, Boldyn is partnering with WICOAR Technologies, the University Hospital, and the University of Oulu in Finland to deploy the first private 5G SA network in a European hospital. This network will support real-time transmission of medical images and test results for enhanced diagnostic monitoring and patient care.
Boldyn Networks, which already connects over one billion people, plans to double its global investment within the next year.
