Virgin Media Expands Full-Fiber Broadband in Stoke

Virgin Media has successfully extended its gigabit broadband network to 13,000 more homes in Stoke, bringing ultrafast internet speeds.

The new rollout offers speeds of up to 2 Gbps, 25 times faster than the local average broadband speed, according to the latest Ofcom Connected Nations Report, placing Stoke’s average broadband speed at just 77 Mbps.

This expansion forms part of a major fiber network build undertaken by nexfibre, a joint venture between InfraVia Capital Partners, Liberty Global, and Telefónica. nexfibre is investing GBP 4.5 billion to deliver full-fiber broadband connections to 5 million homes across the UK by 2026. The project has already connected one million homes, all of which are ready for service.
