Tele2

Tele2 has revealed plans to invest more than EUR 20 million in its network infrastructure throughout 2025, focusing on the continued expansion and modernization of its mobile communications services.

The company will direct the bulk of this investment into upgrading its existing 4G infrastructure and expanding its 5G network across Latvia. Through these efforts, Tele2 aims to deliver faster, more reliable services to its customers and maintain its competitive edge.

Base Stations to Expand Coverage

A significant portion of the investment will go toward installing approximately 300 new 5G base stations throughout the year, bringing Tele2’s 5G footprint to over 1,000 by the end of 2025. This expansion will drastically increase coverage and improve network speeds, positioning Tele2 as a leader in the rollout of next-generation wireless technology in Latvia.

The new 5G base stations are part of Tele2’s broader strategy to meet the growing demand for mobile data and high-bandwidth services nationwide. As demand for 5G services rises, this infrastructure expansion will ensure that Tele2 remains a key player in the highly competitive Latvian telecom market. The increased coverage will also allow for improved network performance in urban and rural areas, enabling Tele2 to offer a high-quality service to its customers.

Our priority is the development of the mobile communications network throughout the territory of Latvia, and, by the end of the year, we plan to provide 5G network coverage to more than 90% of the territory of Latvia. We will direct some of the investments to the development of new services, as well as invest in processes to ensure high-quality customer service.”

Tele2’s focus on expanding its 5G network is an essential part of its vision to become the region’s leading provider of next-generation connectivity. This commitment focuses on improving service quality and positioning the company as a key enabler of the digital economy in Latvia.
