Swisscom and Ericsson have expanded their strategic partnership with the launch of MPN Private, a fully standalone mobile private network (MPN) designed specifically for Swiss enterprises.
This new offering is based on Ericsson’s private 5G network portfolio and utilizes the company’s dual-mode core technology, which simultaneously supports both 4G and 5G connectivity. This innovative solution enables a variety of use cases for businesses in indoor and outdoor environments while providing seamless integration with existing business processes, devices, and applications to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance energy efficiency.

MPN Private allows companies to directly deploy and manage their Ericsson Private 5G core network, creating a secure, localized mobile network independent of any external telecom provider. This ensures reliable, data-intensive communication for applications like mobile robots, digital twins, and connected workforces, particularly in industrial settings like factories. The system comes pre-integrated, allowing for quick deployment and ensuring that sensitive data remains protected on-site.
