Proximus Selects AWS for Cloud and AI Growth

Proximus Group

Proximus Group has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide global cloud infrastructure to modernize and unify its business.

Through the multi-year deal, Proximus Group will leverage AWS’s portfolio of services, including generative AI (GenAI) solutions, to support a data-driven expansion of its products as the company strives to become a global leader in digital communications, digital identity, and connectivity.

As part of its modernization journey, Proximus Group will support its builder community by unifying data ecosystems across Proximus Global’s core Connect, Engage, and Protect products and services portfolio. This will ensure:

  • Better accessibility and analytics, consequently upholding regulatory compliance.
  • Streamlined digital identity and Communication Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) modernization by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve scalability and cost-efficiency.
  • Network cloudification by shifting to a hybrid cloud-based network to reduce costs, optimize efficiency, and enable global expansion.

To support these initiatives, Proximus Group is also accelerating employee cloud expertise through training and certification programs.

Using Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service that offers a choice between high-performing foundation models from leading AI companies like AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Luma AI, Meta, Mistral AI, poolside (coming soon), Stability AI, and Amazon, through a single application programming interface (API), will allow Proximus Group to experiment with the latest foundational models along with a broad set of features needed to build safe, private, and responsible generative AI applications. Using Amazon Bedrock, Proximus Group has already built its customer-facing chatbot, Roubot, which provides more guard-railed responses while interacting with customers.
