Openreach has announced a major digital upgrade for residents and businesses in Grangemouth, Scotland, with the arrival of ultra-fast, full-fiber broadband.
The first 1,000 homes and businesses in the town, located in the Falkirk council area, now have access to this next-generation network, which promises faster and more reliable internet speeds.
The project, which kicked off earlier in 2024, is being delivered in partnership with Circet, a telecom infrastructure specialist. Openreach has outlined plans to extend the new full-fiber broadband to most homes and businesses in Grangemouth in the coming months.

Broadening Connectivity Across Falkirk and Scotland
This move forms part of a broader push by Openreach to upgrade internet infrastructure across the Falkirk area, where more than 38,000 premises have already been connected to the full-fiber network. Despite the wide availability, adoption rates remain modest, with only 26% of eligible homes and businesses opting to upgrade their service.
The rollout in Grangemouth contributes to Openreach’s broader goal of improving connectivity across Scotland. The operator’s full-fiber network reaches more than 1.3 million premises nationwide, a critical step in addressing the growing demand for faster and more stable internet services.
Given the growing importance of digital services for work, education, and entertainment, residents and businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this new offering, ensuring they can access the speeds and reliability needed in today’s increasingly connected world. The completion of the Grangemouth rollout is expected to further solidify Scotland’s position as a digital infrastructure leader, bringing economic and social benefits to local communities.
