Nationwide Connectivity Strategy
The upgrades in Derby form part of Virgin Media O2’s nationwide strategy to enhance its mobile network. The company is investing GBP 2 million daily to future-proof its infrastructure and cater to growing customer demands for seamless connectivity.
This initiative has been launched in response to a surge in mobile data usage, with O2 customers consuming 26% more data in 2023 compared to the previous year.
Steven Verigotta, Director of Mobile Delivery at Virgin Media O2, said, “With customers using more data than ever before, the improvements we’ve made at over 1500 postcodes in Derby will ensure local people and businesses can access reliable connectivity that is so essential in the modern world. We are continuing to invest in our network with future upgrades planned to ensure that we can continue to support our customers both now and in future.”
