Progressive Dominance
The company reached this milestone in just two years, faster than any other operator, thanks to its progressive partnership with Virgin Media O2. In 2024, nexfibre delivered its network to more premises than any fiber provider except the incumbent, solidifying its position as the UK’s second-largest alternative network provider.
nexfibre’s success is driven by its commitment to high build density, rigorous quality standards, and the exclusive use of advanced 10 Gbps XGS-PON technology, making it the only fiber operator of significant scale deploying this cutting-edge solution.

Rajiv Datta, Chief Executive Officer of nexfibre, emphasized that reaching the two million premises milestone highlights the dedication of the company’s team, along with the support of its partners and investors. He noted that the achievement reflects nexfibre’s focus on prioritizing underserved communities while driving economic growth and enhancing living standards across the UK.
“This is an outstanding achievement in just two years of operation, making nexfibre the UK’s second largest alternative network. However, our work is far from done. Our mission is to be part of a network platform that drives sustainable, nationwide competition, provides a genuine alternative to Openreach, and transforms access to broadband across the country,” reflected Datta.
