European Telcos to Develop Dark-Fiber Connection Between Frankfurt and Vienna

In a significant move for European telecommunications, A1 Austria, Eurofiber, and Quantcom have teamed up to develop the fastest dark-fiber route connecting Frankfurt and Vienna.

Set for completion in December 2025, this high-performance fiber optic network will provide the lowest possible latency for data transfer between these two major hubs, enhancing connectivity for critical industries across the continent.

The new dark-fiber route, designed to support a broad range of critical applications, from cloud services to media broadcasting and cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), is not just a solution for today, but for the future.

The ultra-low-latency infrastructure will be vital for telcos, fixed network operators, OTT services, broadcasters, and global enterprises, offering future-proof solutions as the demand for high-speed, reliable data exchange grows.
