Equinix to Acquire BT’s Data Center Business in Ireland

BT Group

Equinix, a global leader in digital infrastructure, has announced the acquisition of BT Group’s data center business in Ireland for EUR 59 million.

The deal includes two data centers in Citywest and Ballycoolin, Dublin, totaling approximately 150,000 square feet. This transaction, subject to regulatory and competition clearances, is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2025.

The acquisition forms part of BT’s asset-light strategy, which focuses on transitioning from owning and operating data centers to partnering with larger global players in the data center and cloud services industry.
