Deutsche Telekom Teams Up with NEAR to Enhance Blockchain Security

Deutsche Telekom Telekom MMS NEAR

Telekom MMS, a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary, has joined the NEAR Ecosystem’s Enterprise Node Operators (ENO) program, strengthening the blockchain’s decentralization and security efforts.

Being the first telecommunications provider to run a validator node within the NEAR Protocol, Deutsche Telekom’s involvement signifies an important step forward in institutional support for NEAR. Validator nodes are essential for verifying transactions, making this partnership a milestone in NEAR’s mission to enhance its infrastructure and reliability.

Enhancing Scalability and Stability

The NEAR Protocol is a highly scalable and user-friendly blockchain network that empowers developers to create applications that can serve millions. Its scalability stems from a unique technology called “sharding,” which divides the blockchain into smaller segments, or “shards,” that operate in parallel. This process improves data distribution, enabling the network to scale linearly and manage higher transaction volumes without congestion.

The Enterprise Node Operators (ENO) program, managed by Meta Pool, further strengthens the NEAR Ecosystem by partnering with companies to run nodes, bringing their expertise to the platform and enhancing its stability.

Since May 2024, one of NEAR’s primary focus areas has been “User-Owned AI.” This initiative integrates AI with blockchain technology, creating an open platform for AI projects that promotes data sovereignty, allowing users to organize and control their AI initiatives directly on the blockchain.

“The cooperation with NEAR is promising and innovative and together we are breaking new ground. The Ecosystem shares our attitude towards greater data sovereignty and user data control for the benefit of the users,” noted Oliver Nyderle, Head of Digital Trust & Web3 Infrastructure at Deutsche Telekom MMS.

Claudio Cossio, Co-Founder of Meta Pool, added that the partnership with Deutsche Telekom marks a major milestone for NEAR and the Enterprise Node Operator Program, emphasizing that Deutsche Telekom’s infrastructure expertise represents a significant step toward enhancing the decentralization and professionalism of the NEAR Ecosystem.

Deutsche Telekom MMS has broadened its staking portfolio by partnering with NEAR, a top-tier network in decentralized AI and scalable blockchain technology. By contributing its reliable infrastructure and technical expertise, Telekom MMS enhances both decentralization and stability within the NEAR Ecosystem, supporting its continued growth and resilience.
