Leveraging Private 5G as a Service

Private 5G as a Service is the first managed service able to provide four customizable service tiers—Innovation, Digitalization, Automation, and Mission-Critical—enabling organizations to tailor offerings to their needs with flexible monthly payment options. These tiers support a range of functions, from testing wireless technology to managing critical operations, and include services such as network operations, monitoring, maintenance, health checks, and spare parts management.

Private 5G provides connectivity for emerging technologies, including smart machines, AR/VR applications, V2X, robotics, and video capabilities. It works alongside Wi-Fi to offer reliable outdoor coverage, improved asset handover, and increased data capacity from sensors, ensuring high uptime for critical devices. This service boosts operational efficiency through remote management and enhances safety by minimizing the need for personnel in hazardous environments. Outsourcing Private 5G as a Service helps organizations reduce initial costs and focus on core business operations.

Boldyn’s offering ensures enterprise customers can customize technology to fit specific use cases, from small hospitals requiring reliable diagnostics to ports with complex automation needs. Its tiered service model simplifies the selection of private 5G packages, aligning technology with enterprise requirements to streamline adoption and deliver measurable business benefits.

The Need for Innovative Business Models

Private 5G improves cybersecurity by restricting unauthorized access and reducing external threat risks. It connects multiple users and devices to enhance operational efficiency, supports device-to-cloud communication, and ensures environmental compliance through automated climate and lighting control. With Private 5G as a Service, these benefits are now accessible to more enterprises through manageable monthly payments, eliminating the need for large upfront investments.

Mikko Uusitalo, CEO, Private Networks Europe, Boldyn Networks, said, “This service has revolutionized our value proposition, enabling clients to benefit from a reliable network without the need for significant technology investments upfront. This dedicated service offers substantial savings in terms of time, resources, and finances. We handle network operations, maintenance, and cybersecurity, eliminating the need for in-house capabilities and resources.”

Uusitalo stated that demand for tailored private network services is rising, with clients favoring an ‘as a Service’ model and monthly payments. The company aims to enhance accessibility to private networks by funding digital transformation projects, allowing more organizations to utilize private 5G solutions.

Markku Rautio, CEO of the Port of Kemi, remarked that Boldyn has been instrumental in the port’s digital transformation, helping to tackle real-time vessel and cargo management challenges, especially during extreme weather. He noted that the service-based subscription model has facilitated the integration of this technology while providing expert consultancy and maintenance, leading to optimized vessel movements and reduced wait times.
