Telia Norway Tops Mobile Network Benchmark

Rohde & Schwarz has announced the findings of the Telia Norway Benchmark, a nationwide mobile network quality assessment conducted in October, 2024.

The benchmarking campaign, commissioned by Telia Norway, evaluated the performance of three leading mobile operators in Norway. Telia emerged as the top performer, solidifying its position as a leader in mobile network quality.

The campaign covered an extensive area, spanning over 5,550 kilometers and reaching more than 50% of Norway’s population. It involved over 11,900 voice call tests and more than 183,000 data tests, focusing on key services like web browsing, social media, voice calls, data transfer, and video streaming. The assessment utilized a transparent, harmonized, and user-centric Network Performance Scoring (NPS) system.

Urban centers such as Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Kristiansand were included in the study, along with towns like Hamar, Sandefjord, Haugesund, and Molde.

Despite Norway’s challenging geography and environmental conditions, all three operators—Ice, Telenor, and Telia—achieved impressive results, each scoring over 700 points out of 1,000. Telia led the rankings with a score of 829, placing it among the world’s top mobile networks.

Norway continues to advance its 5G deployment, further enhancing its position as a global leader in mobile network innovation.
