Telenor IoT has signed an agreement with Volvo Cars to support its electric vehicle (EV) charging initiative across Europe.
Volvo’s newly launched wallbox offers fast and intelligent home charging, integrating advanced Volvo technology. Through the Volvo Cars app, users can schedule charging, track charging history, and manage access to the wallbox.
Designed to be future-proof, the wallbox will eventually support bi-directional charging, enabling vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) functionality. This allows EV batteries to supply power back to the grid or support household energy needs, contributing to grid stability.

“The decision on this collaboration was quite straightforward considering our long and solid relationship. When choosing the right connectivity provider for our needs, we look for reliability, high quality, and, of course, professional support. Telenor Connexion has scored high in all these domains,” noted Alexander Petrofski, Head of Energy Solutions at Volvo Car Corporation.
To ensure seamless operation, the Volvo wallbox comes pre-installed with a Telenor IoT SIM card, providing a reliable cellular connection. This guarantees uninterrupted functionality even if WiFi or Ethernet connections are temporarily unavailable.
“For us, it’s an honor to continue and extend our work with Volvo Cars, unlocking new areas in the connected vehicles ecosystem we have strong expertise in. We are committed to provide the highest quality service to Volvo Cars and look forward to new innovative solutions in the horizon,” added Paulo Vergos, Chief NSO Officer at Telenor Connexion.
