A 2024 survey by Statista found that 37% of organizations plan to migrate all their non-sensitive analytics data to cloud or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms, highlighting the growing need for secure data transfers and movement across various digital estates.
In an exclusive interview with Telecom Review Europe, Emmanuel Bain, Senior VP of Mobility at Console Connect, outlined how the company is facilitating the movement of data and ensuring multi-cloud connectivity across the global digital ecosystem.
Please give us a brief update on Console Connect’s key offerings catering to the European market.
Console Connect is a global company with a presence in and outside of Europe. We offer a number of services that facilitate the movement of data across different digital estates. For instance, we are present in 300+ data centers in Europe, 1,000+ data centers across the world, and we help connect data centers to the public and private clouds.
We have direct connectivity to most of the large cloud service providers, as well as some of the more regional European clouds, such as OVH. We facilitate data movement, helping enterprises save on cloud spending through our direct cloud solutions on-ramping.
In addition, we provide connectivity for enterprise locations worldwide through a local loop via our platform, facilitating edge-to-cloud direct connectivity between enterprise buildings and IoT Edge devices.
Can you elaborate on some of Console Connect’s latest projects?
We have a number of ongoing projects. We are now adding automation capabilities to our Layer 1 service, in addition to our Layer 2 and 3 services which are already fully automated and available to customers on-demand. We are spending significant amounts of time on this latest project because of the massive hardware virtualization the network required to provide the capability on our platform. We had to do a lot of work on our underlying MPLS network that runs around the world to provide this digital capability.
We have also been working with AWS to ensure we are available on their marketplace for enterprise carriers who want to consume our integrated services.
What are Console Connect’s focus areas in the emerging markets?
We’ve helped a number of carriers in the emerging markets launch their private cloud offerings. For instance, recently, Altice Dominicana (in the Dominican Republic) launched their cloud services co- branded with Console Connect.
The Cloud Connect services run on Console Connect infrastructure, however, are fronted by Altice and sold to their enterprise customers in the country. We look forward to similar partnerships with carriers around the world who want to integrate Console Connect services into their products via our APIs.
